    This manual has been prepared for the owner and operators of the JET JC-3 Cyclone Dust Collection System. Its purpose, aside from machine operation, is to promote safety using accepted operating and maintenance procedures. To obtain maximum life and efficiency from your dust collector and to aid in using it safely, please read this manual thoroughly and follow the instructions carefully.

    4. This dust collector is designed and intended for use by properly trained and experienced personnel only. If you are not familiar with the proper and safe operation of a dust collector, do not use until proper training and knowledge have been obtained.
  • Page 5 22. Do not use the dust collector for anything except wood dust. Materials such as liquids, metal shavings, metal dust, screws, glass, plastic or rock can cause sparks and/or damage when coming into contact with any part of the dust collector.

    Introduction This manual is provided by Jet covering the safe operation and maintenance procedures for the Models JC3 Cyclone Dust Collector. This manual contains instructions on installation, safety precautions, general operating procedures, maintenance instructions and parts breakdown. This machine has been designed and constructed to provide years of trouble free operation if used in accordance to instructions set forth in this manual.

    Assembly The parts required for this section are contained in two Hardware Packages (Part Numbers: JC3-HD1 and JC3-HD2). Impeller Housing to Dust Collection Referring to Figure 1: 1. Place the impeller housing assembly (A) upside down on the ground as shown. 2.

    Base Referring to Figure 6: 1. Place an M10 flat washer (C and insert the caster through bottom of the base (B). 2. Slide another M10 flat washer (C lock washer (D) over the caster shaft. 3. Thread a 3/8" hex nut (E) on the caster shaft and fasten with a 14mm (9/16") wrench.

    Drum Cover Referring to Figure 8: 1. Place two hose clamps (A) on the ends of the short hose (B). 2. Slide the upper end of the hose (B) onto the bottom of the funnel (C) and secure by tightening the upper hose clamp (A) with a cross-point screwdriver.

    Collector Housing and Collector Bag Refer to Figure 10. Note: If you are assembling the 8-foot dust collection unit the support brackets (A) will not be used. Insert the six M8 x 12 hex cap screws with six M8 hex nuts to cover the holes on the housing. Skip Step 1 and proceed to Step 2.

    Canister Handle Assembly The parts required for this section are contained in the Handle Hardware Package (PN: JC2CF-HD2). Referring to Figure 12: 1. Loosen the setscrew (A) in the handle (B) with a 4mm hex wrench. 2. Insert the handle tube (C) into the handle, lining up the hole so the setscrew can pass through.

    Use the proper type hose to connect the dust collector to the machine being operated. Dryer vent hose is not acceptable for this purpose.
