There are some Codan Envoys on the Austravel Safety Net HF Radio Network that may fail the

push

process, in the event of a H.E.L.P. (4357) Emergency call activation. This issue maybe overcome via local

configuration changes on the radio handpiece avoiding the need for your radio to be returned to your dealer

DO NOT push the RED BUTTON during any part of these changes.

The

"Red Button "push

process should work like this....the Red Button is pushed and held for approx. 3-5 seconds

at which point the radio will start a sequence of SELCALLS on several nominated channels. This SELCALLING pro-

cess can take up to 5 minutes depending on individual radio configurations. At the end of the call process the

radio SHOULD return to channel SCAN MODE.

Config Check & Changes

1) Press the "MENU" button

2) From the menu screen, arrow across to the

"Admin Login" Icon and press "OK"

3) Press "OK" at the "Enter Admin PIN"

Hopefully, there is no Admin Password set.

WARNING YOU ARE NOW IN ADMIN MODE !

Page 3 You can work your way back into the Emergency Settings to make sure the last channel setting is set to SEND POSITION. This setting will allow the Envoy to return to SCAN MODE automatically after the Emergency Call chain is com- plete.
