Starting cold engine
NOTE: For a cold start, make sure that the rear handle (6) is in the upright
position.

4. Hold the machine securely to the
ground with your left hand. Pull
the recoil starter handle (5) slowly
with your right hand until you feel
it a brisk, strong pull. Repeat until
the engine attempts to start but
no more than 4 times (Fig. 15).
(If engine already started within 4
times, ignore step 5, 6 and go to
step 7 directly.)
5. Set the choke lever (15) to
OPEN position.

7. Squeeze the throttle control lock-out (7) and throttle control (9) and release them to
let engine run at idle speed.
8. Let the equipment run in idle for 1 to 2 minutes to let it warm up.
Starting warm engine
