Software
The pen computer uses Microsoft's Windows 95 as its operat-
ing system. Application software must be compatible with
this operating system in order to run on the pen computer.
For details on Windows 95, refer to the Windows 95 Help
function.
MS- DOS Screen
Windows 95 provides two types of environments that allows
you to start up MS--DOS applications. The symbol "C:>"
displayed on these screens is called the "MS--DOS prompt."
This prompt indicates that MS--DOS is awaiting input.
MS- DOS Prompt
The MS--DOS prompt is displayed by tapping "MS--DOS
Prompt" under "Programs" in the Start menu.
With the MS--DOS prompt, it is possible to make settings
such as the font and window size; it is also possible to cut
and paste text between MS--DOS applications.
MS- DOS Mode
The MS--DOS mode is displayed by tapping "Restart the
computer in MS--DOS mode?" in the dialog box when "Shut
Down" is selected from the Start menu.
Compared to the MS--DOS prompt, MS--DOS mode offers
better compatibility with MS--DOS applications.
