Installing the card

Follow the steps below to install the card in the Blade Enclosure. The card can be
installed/removed even if the Blade Enclosure is powered on (i.e., switch modules/pass-through
cards in other slots are working). An example of installation is provided. Follow the same steps for
installation in other slots.
Make sure to follow the instructions and notes to use the card safely. There is a risk
of death or serious injury. For more information, see the descriptions from page 55.
● Do not install/remove two or more switch modules/pass-through cards at a time.
● Do not place your hands inside the Blade Enclosure.
Do not remove the Blade Enclosure from the rack to install a CPU blade, switch
module, pass-through card, or other optional card.
Important
1. See "Installation of the card in a Blade Enclosure" on page 56 to check the slot where the card is
installed.
2. If there is a slot cover attached to the slot where you wish to install the card, remove it by pulling
the ejector located near the top.
Important
● Save the slot cover for future use.
● Do not remove any slot covers other than the one attached to the slot where you
wish to install the card.
3. Place the card carefully on a clean,
flat table and open the ejector. When
you open the ejector, press the stopper
securing the ejector rightward.
