Release Firmware V6 – Top features and new areas of application
Firmware Version 6 – The next generation
innovaphone will be celebrating its 10th anniversary next year. In these ten years we have
continuously set ourselves the task of observing the many rapid market developments, of recognising
trends and adapting accordingly. Firmware version 5 had a sprinkling of new features and we have
been able to present many product novelties since then, proving the fact that we have always looked
forward into the future. Over the last two years the old devices have been gradually replaced by new
products. For example IP400 gave way to its dignified successor IP800 and the IP3000 was replaced
by the gateway IP6000. Also the IP phone IP110 and the powerful system telephone IP230 with its
add-on module have been newly added to complement the product range.
The new firmware Version 6 is accompanying innovaphone into the next company decade. A new era
is beginning for us. Version 6 has been put through its paces and is available starting 2 November
2006.

The Top Features of V6

Version 6 has many new features. It must be said that some of the small new features are on a par
with large implementations. The new voice mail and the implementation of SIP protocol are definitely
large implementations. Voice mail is integrated into the innovaphone PBX as far as possible. It can be
simply and quickly modified as necessary or for example extended for appropriate purposes as it
works based on scripts.
The implementation of SIP protocol is construed in such a way that firstly this protocol can be used for
example in order to connect to a public service provider. Secondly the protocol can be used to
integrate SIP based end devices or applications into the PBX.
The multitude of small improvements makes working with the innovaphone PBX much more flexible
and comfortable. Thus the list of the features defined in H.450 has been completed with the
implementation of the "Message waiting" function. Every messaging system can send this signal to
the subscriber thus signalling „you have a new message". This feature is perfect in connection with the
system telephone IP230 as this telephone is fitted out with a message waiting light. All processes can
now be scheduled for execution thanks to the introduction of a new object type for the PBX. Thus a
flexible night mode can be applied either throughout the system or for individual subscribers or for
subscriber groups. Futhermore scheduled call diversions can be configured.
The new Version 6 also provides improvements concerning administration. The web based admin
user interface has been completely over-hauled. The configuration is much faster and more
compatible due to the exclusion of Java-Applets. The user interface has been further unified for all
components of the innovaphone product range. The administrator can thus obtain an overview faster
and will be more effective in administering the complete system.
