Preparing for Use

Purging Air from the Hydraulic System and Priming the Intensifier Pump

Before first time use or after changing the hydraulic oil, you will need to purge air from the
hydraulic system. Also, before first time use, after disassembly, or whenever the intensifier pump
loses its prime, you will need to re-prime the intensifier pump.
NOTE: The Motor/hydraulic circuit may demonstrate a temporary increase in noise level which
will disappear when the system is purged of air.
Hydraulic Preparation to be Done Upon Initial Setup or Use After Long Storage
Periods
1. Charge the accumulator to about 500 psi, about 34 bars.
2. Turn on the Master Power On/Off switch at the rear of the processor.
3. Press the blue Reset button located on the control panel.
4. Rotate the Mode switch to the Jog position so that the motor should turn on and idle
for at least 15 minutes. This is just to warm up and circulate oil through the hydraulic
system.
5. Press and hold the Extend button for about 15 seconds to fully extend the piston.
6. Rotate the Mode switch back to the Jog position.
7. Rotate the Mode switch to the Run position, and wait until about 7 seconds. This
moves the piston in the accumulator causing oil to lubricate its seals.
8. Repeat Steps 4 through 6 at least four times.
9. Turn off the motor by rotating the Mode switch to the Off position.
10. Turn on the Master Power On/Off switch
11. Recharge the accumulator to about 1400 psi, making sure not to exceed 1450 psi.
