CONTROLLING THE AUTOFOCUS

TOUCH AF

During video recordings, Touch AF facilitates a more intuitive focus
control, even if the main object moves outside the center of the
frame. See p. 154 for additional information.
Tap the LCD panel in the desired position
• Focusing is done after the touch.

SUPPRESSING CONTINUOUS FOCUSING

The area in the AF metering field will be focused continuously if
is in use. This is done automatically during recording, without having
to tap and hold the shutter button. This type of focusing is signifi-
cantly smoother than focusing accessed via the shutter button, as
jumps are avoided.
Continuous focus adjustments can be suppressed by initiating a me-
tering memory lock. The Zoom/Lock button must have
assigned (see p. 56).

Press and hold the Zoom/Lock button
• The camera stores the focus setting.
Returning to continuous focusing
Press and hold the Zoom/Lock button
• Automatic focusing is engaged again.

AUTOFOCUS METERING METHODS

The AF mode offers various metering methods for focusing. A
successful focus setting is identified by a green metering field, an
unsuccessful one is shown in red.
