Troubleshooting (cont.)
Problem
Electrical stimulation is
inconsistent.
Electrical stimulation is
ineffective.
Skin turns red or there is a
stabbing pain.
Check the wires and make sure they are plugged in securely.
Turn down the intensity and rotate the lead plug in the socket 90°.
Replace the lead wire.
Electrodes may be placed incorrectly (see Electrode Placement Guide, page 16).
Reposition the electrodes.
Contact your physician or medical practitioner.
Using electrodes on the same area every time can cause discomfort. Reposition the
electrodes (see Electrode Placement Guide, page 16). Stop using immediately if you
feel any more pain or discomfort.
The electrodes may be damaged, dirty, or may not be attached to the skin properly. Make
sure they are clean or replace with new electrodes if necessary.
You may have sensitive skin. Turn off the TENS unit and stop using immediately.
