1.) The bass amplifier output is not short-circuit proof. Take care when connecting or dis-
connecting a load.
2.) All audio returns are electrically connected to ground. However, for best performance
the returns should be connected at J701 and not bussed together externally.
2.5
Measurement notes
The ground plane in the immediate vicinity of J703 pin (bass output return) should be used
as the single-point ground reference for any measurements.
The input test signal generator should be referred to this same ground reference, and
should have an output impedance of less than 600W.
All measurements involving UUT (Unit Under Test) output shall be made as close to the
appropriate UUT connector as possible.
In normal operation, the amplifiers are attached to a heat sink. In the test fixture, no heat
sink is used. To avoid overheating the amplifiers, do not connect the output loads to the
power amplifiers for more than the minimum time required to make a measurement.
2.6
Output Loading
Unless the test specifically calls for a load, all tests are to be performed with speaker out-
puts unloaded. (This is the prevent overheating of the un-heat-sunk power amplifiers.)
When loads are specified, the following loads should be used:
