1 Turn on or restart the PC.
2 When the Vectra logo appears, press the
3 Verify that the Setup program settings are correct.
Create a bootable floppy to update your PC's BIOS. Refer to page 31.

Use your operating system's System Tools to defragment your hard disk or
perform ScanDisk.
1 Turn off the PC and disconnect the power cord.
2 Remove the cover.
3 Set the system board switch 5 (Clear CMOS) to ON to clear the configuration.
4 Replace the cover, and reconnect the power cord.
5 Turn on the PC. This will erase the CMOS memory.
6 Wait until the PC has started. A message will be displayed saying that the
configuration has been cleared.
7 Turn off the PC, disconnect the power cord, and remove the cover.
8 Set the system board switch 5 (Clear CMOS) on the switch block to OFF to re-
enable the configuration.
9 Replace the cover, and reconnect the power cord.
10 Switch on the PC. The PC may start more slowly than usual because it will
load the default configuration values.
