Other Configuration Problems
Problem
POST displays an error not covered by an earlier
section in this chapter.
The PC's configuration settings may be corrupted.
Restore the default values.
You may need to update your PC's Basic Input
Output System (BIOS).
You think you may have a problem with the audio
or LAN features.
Your hard disk may be fragmented or contain
errors.

To try and fix this ...
Check your Setup program settings:

Turn on or restart the PC.

When the message Press F2 to Enter Setup appears, press the
F2 key.

Switch the PC OFF then ON.
When the message Press F2 to Enter Setup appears, press the

F2 key.

Press F9 to restore default values.

Press F10 to exit the Setup program saving changes.
Create a floppy to update your PC's BIOS. Refer to page 20.

Check the state of your hard disk by running ScanDisk and Disk
Defragmenter. To access these utilities, select Programs
Accessories
System Tools from the Start menu. For more
