Printing Problems

I The machine beeps while printing.
The machine may have a paper jam.
• Clear the paper jam (1 p. 9-3).
I Nothing prints.
The power cord may not be plugged in securely.
• Check that the power cord is plugged securely into the machine and into the wall
outlet (1 Set-Up Instructions). If the machine is plugged into a power strip, make
sure the power strip is plugged in and turned on.
You may not have removed the plastic seal from the cartridge.
• Make sure you install the cartridge properly (1 Set-Up Instructions).
The cartridge may need to be replaced.
• Replace the cartridge (1 p. 8-7).
I Printout does not match the print media size.
The print media may not be loaded correctly.
• Make sure the print media is loaded correctly in the multi-purpose tray (1 User's Guide).
I Printout is skewed.
The print media may not be loaded correctly.
• Make sure the print media is loaded correctly in the multi-purpose tray (1 User's Guide).
• Make sure the paper delivery slots are clear.
I Print media jams occur.
You may not be using the correct paper delivery slot.
• Select the correct paper delivery slot (1 p. 3-7).
I Printout is not clear.
You may not be using the correct print media type.
• Make sure you load print media that meets the requirements for the machine
(1 p. 3-4).
You may be printing on the wrong side of the paper.
• Some papers have a "right" side for printing. If the print quality is not as clear as you
would like it to be, try turning the paper over and printing on the other side.
I Printout has vertical white streaks.
Toner may be low or unevenly distributed.
• Redistribute the toner inside the cartridge (1 p. 8-7). If the problem persists, replace
the cartridge (1 p. 8-7).
