14. Care and cleaning
a) General information
Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions as they can cause
damage to the housing and malfunctioning.
• Apart from the occasional battery change, the product is maintenance-free for you. Repair or maintenance work
must be done by a technician or an authorised repair centre. There are no product components which have to
be maintained. For this reason, never open it (except for inserting/changing the batteries, as described in these
operating instructions).
• Use a dry, soft and clean cloth to clean the weather station. Do not press too hard on the display, this may cause
scratch marks or the display to malfunction; furthermore, the display might break.
• Dust can be easily removed using a clean, long-haired brush and a vacuum cleaner.
• Clean the housing of the outdoor sensor with a fibre-free cloth moistened with clean water.
b) Cleaning the rain gauge
• Regularly check the rain gauge and remove any leaves or other objects from the funnel.
• Turn the rain collector counter-clockwise and remove it.
• Remove any debris or insects.
• Clean the rain collector under running water. Allow the collector to dry completely before you install it back.
• Turn the collector clockwise to lock it into place.
