8.1
Mounting Dräger X-node
CAUTION
The sensing head can be damaged.
To ensure product safety even when an external power supply is connected to
the micro USB socket, only an approved, commercially available USB power
supply unit may be used that does not exceed the parameters 5.25 V / 3 A /
15 W.
► The sensing head may only be used with USB power supply units that
comply with the USB 3.1 (Gen2) specification or lower.
CAUTION
The sensing head can be damaged.
No IP rating applies during the charging process.
► The sensing head must be protected against spray water and dust while the
rechargeable battery is charging.
Prior to the installation of the sensor in the sensing head (3), the internal
rechargeable battery of the sensing head must be charged as follows:
1. Remove the seal for the micro USB port (6).
2. Connect the plug of a micro USB cable to the micro USB port (6) of the
sensing head.
3. Connect the micro USB cable to a compatible power supply unit.
4. Connect the power supply unit to the mains power supply.
5. When the charging process is complete, the micro USB port must be
resealed with the seal.
For optimum measurements the sensing head must be installed at the centre of
the area to be monitored. The sensing head must be installed so that it is
accessible for maintenance work and suspended from the mounting lug (1).
The sensing head must be mounted vertically with the sensor (5) pointing down,
±30 ° at a location with low vibration and, as far as possible, stable
temperatures.
