LCD DISPLAY
Display provides
readout of
temperature,
status, operation
mode, and error
conditions.
Ergonomically
designed for visual
access as you hold
the thermometer.
PULSE TIMER
BUTTON
Pressing this
button activates a
30-second visual
and audible timer to
measure respiration
and/or pulse.
°F/ °C SWITCH
Toggles the thermometric
scale between Fahrenheit
and Celsius, at any time.
When this button is pressed,
the currently displayed
temperature will be con-
verted, and redisplayed.
When inserted into the ear,
the infrared sensor in the
probe scans thermal energy
radiated within the ear canal.

SCAN
BUTTON
After inserting
the probe into the
ear canal, press this
button to take a
temperature. The
infrared sensor then
measures tympanic
temperatures, and
after 1 second with
no increase in
temperature, the
highest of these
temperatures is
displayed.
