When replacing an existing boiler, the
heating system shall be flushed with an
approved system cleaner before the new
boiler is added to the system. If the old
boiler has already been removed, a bypass
must be piped in when the new boiler is
installed to facilitate the flushing of the
system.
The Rinnai boiler must be isolated from the
system while the system is flushed. No
system cleaner should ever enter the boiler
heat exchanger due to its caustic nature
which could damage the heat exchanger.

Cleaners, Inhibitors and Antifreezes" in the
Appendix for an approved list of system
cleaners, inhibitors, and antifreezes.
