Install the filler bolt and washer to the filler port
of the reduction case and tighten the filler bolt
(Figure
63).

Servicing the Gearbox

Gearbox Models Only
Checking the Clutch Operation
Service Interval: Before each use or daily (gearbox
model only).
After the first 25 hours (gearbox model only).
Important:
Check the gearbox clutch if the
paddles rotate when the clutch lever is in the O
position, if the paddles rotate slowly, or if the
clutch begins to slip.
1.
Move the clutch lever to the O
2.
Start the engine.
3.
Ensure that the engine throttle is set to the 2/3
position.
4.
If the paddles rotate with the clutch lever to the
O
position do the following:

Shut off the engine.
B.
Locate the clutch lever at the back of the
machine; refer to
C.
Move the clutch lever to the O
D.
Attach a spring scale with a range of 15 to
30 kg (35 to 55 lb) to the grip of the clutch
lever

see what the highest pressure is when
moving the clutch handle from the O
position to the O
Note:

Oil type: SAE 90 gear oil

Checking the Gearbox Oil

Service Interval: Every 40 hours (gearbox model

Park the machine on a level surface and shut
off the engine.
2.
Allow the engine to cool.
3.
Disconnect the wire from the spark plug; refer to
Disconnecting the Spark-Plug Wire (page
14).
4.
Locate the gearbox between the engine and the
front cowl.
5.
At the right side of the gearbox, examine the oil
level in the sight glass
