- Page 4 INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing the new ex•tend•it VDL•1000 by Gefen, Inc. The VDL•1000 improves the quality of picture transmission over CAT5, CAT5e, or CAT6 UTP or STP cables and may be used with any extender. CAT5/6 cable has been optimized for network data transmission and has four separate twisted pairs each with a different number of turns per unit length to reduce crosstalk between pairs.
