5.6 Tow-Trains
WARNING Risk of collision
When driving tow-trains, there is a risk of collision within the swept area.
Always keep a sharp eye on the movements of the tow-train.
WARNING Risk of disconnection
Unwanted disconnection may occur if driving on inclined or uneven floors.
Only use tow-trains on even surfaces without inclinations.
WARNING Risk of crushing
There is a risk of crushing when coupling and uncoupling.
Be careful when performing such work so that you do not crush hands or
fingers.
WARNING Risk of crushing
There is a risk of crushing the feet between the tow-train/load and the
chassis.
Be careful when performing manual tasks.
WARNING Risk of tipping
There is a risk of tipping over when handling tall and unstable loads.
Never drive faster than 6 km/h.
WARNING Stumbling hazard
There is a risk of tripping over protruding parts.
Be observant when handling and parking a hand pallet truck equipped
with tow-train.
The tow-train may be driven at a maximum of 6 km/h and may at most in-
clude five trailers. The maximum weight, excluding the hand pallet truck, may
not exceed the towing capacity of the hand pallet truck, and not more than
4000 kg.
Observe and apply the rules of the truck directive or applicable national
standards concerning braking power.
The tow-train may only be driven in designated areas.
The operator must have a good knowledge of the turning radius and sweep of
the tow-train.
Personnel in the vicinity of the tow-train must be observant of the operational
area of the tow-train.
