Charging & Discharging of Nitrogen in the Back Head
Charging
1. Remove inflation valve cap" from the back head.
2. Connect the end of the pressure gauge adapter (1) to the
inflation valve on the back head.
3. Remove the end cap (4) to uncover the pipe fitting for the
hose.
4. Connect the hose from the pipe fitting to a Nitrogen tank.
5. Make sure the pressure relief valve is (3) tightened.
6. Begin filling the back head with Nitrogen by pressing and
holding the pressure release pin (2).
7. Once the required pressure is achieved, remove pressure
from the pressure relief pin (2).
8. Disconnect hydraulic hose and reattach the end cap (4).
9. Disconnect the end of the pressure guage adapter (1) and
reattach the inflation valve cap to the back of the head.
Discharging
Danger!
It is not recommended to disassemble or assemble the back head. If such action is taken,
the Nitrogen must be fully discharged first! An explosion is highly possible if the through bolts are
loosened before discharging the Nitrogen.
1. Remove the inflation valve cap
2. Connect the pressure gauge adapter (1) to the inflation valve
on the back head.
3. Loosen the pressure relief valve (3).
4. Begin discharging Nitrogen by pressing and holding the
pressure release pin.
5. Release the pressure release pin once Nitrogen has stopped
discharging.
6. Disconnect the pressure gauge adapter (1) and reattach the
inflation valve cap.
