Carefully read the PTO shaft and tractor instructions. Before operation, make sure that the guards are installed on the power take off of the tractor and PTO shaft.

The brake must be set securely to prevent • movement of the tractor. Damage to the auger, gearbox and the PTO can occur if the tractor moves while the auger is in the hole.
BPH-100 Post Hole Digger Maintenance/Service DANGER: Stop engine, lock parking brake and remove key before performing any service or maintenance. Never rely on the tractor lift system. Place blocks or stands under the Post Hole Digger to prevent it from falling, causing serious injury or death.

BPH-100 Post Hole Digger Maintenance /Service Lubrication Before every use: Check the oil level in the gearbox. Remove the oil plug on the side of the gearbox. The oil level should • be up to the lower threads of the hole. If oil level is low, add 90 wt. gear oil.

Always tighten hardware to these values unless a different torque value or tightening procedure is listed for a specific application. Fasteners must always be replaced with the same grade as specified in the manual.
