INTRODUCTION Unpacking: Thank you for purchasing the WiFly EXR HEX5 IP by ADJ Products, LLC. Every device has been thoroughly tested and has been shipped in perfect operating condition. Carefully check the shipping carton for damage that may have occurred during shipping. If the carton appears to have been damaged, carefully inspect your fixture for any damage and be sure all accessories necessary to operate the unit have arrived intact.
• WARRANTY REGISTRATION The WiFly EXR HEX5 IP carries a 2 year limited warranty. Please fill out the enclosed warranty card to validate your purchase. All returned service items, whether under warranty or not, must be freight pre- paid and accompanied by a return authorization (R.A.) number. The R.A. number must be clearly writ- ten on the outside of the return package.

IP NOTICE IP65 RATED An IP rated lighting fixture is commonly installed in outdoor environments and has been designed with an enclosure that effectively protects the ingress (entry) of external foreign objects such as dust and water. The International Protection (IP) rating system is commonly expressed as “IP” (Ingress Protection) followed by two numbers (i.e.
PROTECTION VALVE This IP rated fixture features a protective vent valve that equalizes pressure, prevents contamination, and reduces condensation, ulti- mately extending the lifetime of the fixture. IMPORTANT: MUST READ!!! If this fixture is installed in an extreme and/or harsh outdoor/wet environment, it MUST be powered on and used for a minimum of 30 minutes every 10-15 days.

BATTERY PRECAUTIONS 3. BATTERY STORAGE The battery should be stored at room temperature, with a charge of at least 50%. During long peri- ods of storage, it is recommended that the battery be charged every 6 months. Doing so will prolong the life of the battery and will also make sure that the battery charge does not fall below the 30% mark.
DMX Cable Requirements: The WiFly EXR HEX5 IP can be controlled via DMX-512 protocol. The WiFly EXR HEX5 IP has 5 DMX channel modes (see the DMX Traits section of this manual for detailed information). The DMX address is set on the back panel of the WiFly EXR HEX5 IP.

SETUP DMX ADDRESSING: All fixtures should be given a DMX starting address when operating with a DMX controller, in order to ensure that the correct fixture responds to the correct control signal. This digital starting address is the channel number from which the fixture starts to “listen” to the digital control signal sent out from the DMX controller.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS WiFLY Address Setting/WiFly On/Off: This function is used to set the WiFly address and activate/deactivate the WiFly function. The address must match the address that is set to your WiFly TransCeiver or WiFly controller. 1. Plug the fixture in and press the MODE button until “WIFI SET ADDR: XX” is displayed, where “XX”...
2. Select your desired DMX Channel mode and set your DMX address. Refer to the Operating Instructions section of this manual for detailed instructions. 3. Apply power to the ADJ WiFly Transceiver. Please note that the fixture must be set up first before you apply power to WiFly Transceiver.
The ADJ RFC remote (sold seperately) has many different functions and allows you to control your WiFly EXR HEX5 IP from long distance. Maximum range is 150 ft. To use the RFC you must first acti- vate the fixtures receiver, as directed in the Operating Instructions section of this manual.

DMX TRAITS NOTES: • When Channel 9 is between the values of 0-51, Channels 1-6 are used, and Channel 8 will con- trol strobing. • When Channel 9 is between the values of 52-102, Channel 10 is in Color Macros Mode, and Channel 8 will control strobing.
BATTERY STATUS AND CHARGING BATTERY STATUS: This function is used to check the charge status of the battery. Plug the fixture in and press the MODE button until “BATT LEV XXX%” is displayed. “XXX” represents the currently remaining battery life. If “BATT LEV ----” is displayed, it means that the unit is running on AC power. Please do not fully deplete the battery charge, as this severly shortens the life of the battery.
POWER CORD DAISY CHAIN These units have the capability to be daisy chained together via the power in/out ports. The maxi- mum number of units that can be linked together in this manner is 10 units. DO NOT EXCEED THE NUMBER OF UNITS LISTED ABOVE. DO NOT MIX MAKE AND MODEL TYPES WHEN DAISY CHAINING! All units that are connected in this manner must be of the same make and model type.
