Backrest: Removable. Shoulder belt adjuster strap must be removed
before attaching backrest. To install, attach hooks to back of seat pan
(diagram 1), rotate backrest up until it clicks twice. Reverse steps to
remove backrest. To adjust backrest height, squeeze adjustment
handle on back of headrest and pull upwards (diagram 2). Lower or
raise headrest, then release handle to lock into one of five available positions.
Backrest may be reclined one click in order to install restraint flush with vehicle
seat back. Vehicle seat back must be upright. If vehicle headrest interferes
with flush install of booster, check if it may be removed or adjusted, or move
booster to a different seating position.
Belt path: Do not install restraint using inflatable safety belt. Use vehicle
lap-shoulder belt to restrain child. Route lap portion of lap-shoulder belt under
both armrests. Shoulder belt must go under armrest on buckle side. Only
route shoulder belt through shoulder belt guide on headrest (diagram 3) or
shoulder belt adjuster strap if necessary to position the shoulder belt
correctly. To use shoulder belt adjuster strap for backless booster mode, strap
must be attached to bar on back of seat pan that is closest to vehicle safety
belt buckle (diagram 4). It will lie diagonally across the
child's back (diagram 5).
