Waveform: The MG Waveform doesn't offer a choice of fixed shapes: instead, it's
continuously variable. It outputs two waveforms – at the center of its travel, these
are a triangle and a square. The triangle is internally wired and doesn't need
a patch cable, but the square wave is available from the Patch Panel. Turning
this knob gradually changes the output waveform – from sawtooth to triangle to
ramp (upward sawtooth), and from narrow pulse width (mostly 'up') to square
to narrow pulse width (mostly 'down').
Frequency sets the rate of the MG cycle. Next to it, there's a button with a musical
note – this sets the type of sync to an external MIDI clock source. A pop-up asks
for the type of sync desired: Hertz (0.093 to 17.8 Hz) or three types of Sync for
straight time, triplets, or dotted note values. (8 bars to 1/32 note). When any Sync
option is enabled, the red LED by the button lights up.
EG1/EXT controls the MG Frequency from either Envelope Generator 1 or an
external CV source.
