4.4 Maintenance and cleaning
The life of the device increases and frequently encountered problems will be
reduced if it is cleaned at regular intervals.
4.4.1 Cleaning the detergent drawer
1 Press the dotted line above the siphon in the compartment intended for
fabric softener, then pull towards you until the compartment is removed from the
machine.
2. Wash the detergent dispenser and the siphon with plenty of lukewarm water in a
basin. To prevent residue from coming into contact with your skin, clean it with a
suitable brush while wearing a pair of gloves.
3
Return the bin to its original location after cleaning it and make sure it is
securely in place.
4.4.2 Cleaning the door and the drum
For washing machines with a drum cleaning programme, see Product
Operation - Programmes.
VS
Repeat the drum cleaning process every 2 months.
Use an anti-limescale suitable for washing machines.
4.4.3 Cleaning the bodywork and the control panel
Clean the body of the washing machine with soapy water or with mild, non-
corrosive gel detergent, if available, and dry with a soft cloth.
Only use a soft, damp cloth to clean the control panel.
36 / EN
Clean the detergent drawer at regular intervals (every 4 to
5 wash cycles) as shown below, to avoid powder detergent
buildup over time.
Lift the rear part of the siphon to remove it as
shown.
If more than the normal amount of water and fabric softener
mixture starts to collect in the fabric softener compartment, the
siphon needs to be cleaned.
After each wash, make sure that no foreign bodies have
remained in the drum.
If the holes on the bellows shown in the diagram
below are blocked, unblock them using a toothpick.
Foreign metal objects will cause rust stains in the
drum. Clean stains on the surface of the drum with a
stainless steel cleaner.
Never use steel wool or steel wool. These materials can
damage painted, chrome and plastic surfaces.
