Driving your vehicle
Lane Following Assist helps the
driver to keep the vehicle in the
centre of the lane by assisting the
driver's steering. However, the
driver should not solely rely on
the function but always pay
attention on the steering wheel to
stay in the lane.
The operation of Lane Following
Assist can be cancelled or not
work properly according to road
condition and surroundings.
Always be cautious when driving.
Do not disassemble the front view
camera temporarily to tint the
window or attach any types of
coatings and accessories. If you
disassemble the camera and
assemble it again, we recom -
mend that you take your vehicle
to an authorised Kia dealer/ser -
vice partner and have the function
checked for calibration.
When you replace the windscreen
glass, front view camera or
related parts of the steering
wheel, we recommend that you
take your vehicle to an authorised
Kia dealer/service partner and
have the function checked for cal -
ibration.
The function detects lane mark -
ers and controls the steering
wheel by the front view camera,
therefore, if the lane markers are
hard to detect, the function may
not work properly. Please refer to
Lane Following Assist (LFA)
"Limitations of Lane Following
Assist" on page 6-177.
Do not remove or damage the
related parts of Lane Following
Assist.
You may not hear a warning
sound of Lane Following Assist
because of excessive audio sound.
Do not place objects on the dash -
board that reflects light such as
mirrors, white paper, etc. The
function may malfunction if the
sunlight is reflected.
Always have your hands on the
steering wheel whilst Lane Fol -
lowing Assist is activated. If you
continue to drive with your hands
off the steering wheel after the
"Keep hands on steering wheel"
warning message appears, the
function will turn off automati -
cally. However, if the driver has
their hands on the steering wheel
again, the function will start con -
trolling the steering wheel.
The steering wheel is not continu -
ously controlled so if the vehicle
speed is at a higher rate when
leaving a lane the vehicle may not
be controlled by the function. The
driver must always follow the
speed limit when using the func -
tion.
If you attach objects to the steer -
ing wheel, the function may not
assist steering or the hands off
alarm may not work properly.
