Point Commands

CAUTION:
Be sure to perform user overrides of the ROOM TEMP, RM STPT DIAL, and DI OVRD
SW points via a tool plugged into the WRS. Overrides performed via the TEC RTS
port, field panel, or workstation are not detected by the RSX (which will overwrite
them with updates from the WRS).

Command Priority

Similar to wired room temperature sensors, the following command priorities for ROOM TEMP, RM STPT
DIAL, and DI OVRD SW are used:
OVRD—the RSX provides the value from the WRS to the TEC, or a tool (such as WCIS) is
commanding the point via the WRS HMI port.
OPER—the system (field panel or workstation software) is commanding the point.
NONE—RSX has lost communications with WRS for more than two heartbeats (default of 10
minutes).
When RSX has lost communications with the WRS for more than two heartbeats (default of
10 minutes), the RSX will release the ROOM TEMP and RM STPT DIAL points at the TEC.
The ROOM TEMP value will go to approximately 55° F (13° C), and the RM STPT DIAL
value will go to approximately 101° F (38° C). This is due to these two points reading their
values from an internal resistor in the RSX instead of the WRS-supplied values. This means
that alarms can be set on the ROOM TEMP and RM STPT DIAL points to detect a loss of
wireless communications (such as due to a dead WRS battery) between the WRS and RSX.
if you manually release the ROOM TEMP or RM STPT DIAL points at the TEC, the ROOM
TEMP value will again go to approximately 55° F (13° C), and the RM STPT DIAL value will
go to approximately 101° F (38° C). The two points remain at these values until the room
temperature changes at the WRS, or the room setpoint dial is changed at the WRS. To
have the RSX update these two points to their current WRS values before that, you can
release point 99 (ERROR STATUS) at the TEC. The RSX periodically commands and reads
point 99, and if it detects that the point has been released, the RSX assumes that the TEC
was reset, and immediate re-commands the ROOM TEMP and RM STPT DIAL points with
their latest values.
When using the Sensing Only and Sensing with Display WRS models, the RSX does not
command the value of RM STPT DIAL point at the TEC device (since there is no room
setpoint dial on these WRS models). With these WRS models, the RM STPT DIAL point's
value will be approximately 101° F (38° C) with a command priority set to NONE, and point
status set to NORMAL. If the high value is undesirable, then the RM STPT DIAL point should
be commanded or have a TEC initial value setup on it to the desired value.
