Boiler or Direct/Indirect Water Heater Wiring

• T he DHW Energy Saver can control a single boiler. It turns on the
boiler/water heater whenever the supply temperature drops below the
Supply Set Point less the differential.
• J ust wire terminal 6 and 7 to the boiler TT terminals.
• H eat-Timer recommends the installation of a bypass switch for
maintenance and manual operation of the boiler/water heater.
• M ake sure to set the boiler limits higher than the DHW Energy Saver
Supply Set Point.

Domestic Hot Water Circulating Pump Wiring

• W hen the DHW Return is activated, the DHW Energy Saver will
energize the DHW circulating pump relay whenever the return
temperature drops below the Return Set Point less the differential
• T he DHW Energy Saver is equipped with a circulating pump relay
output. The relay can operate up to ⅛ HP pump at 120 VAC.
• T he Pump output relay does not source any power. A separate power
source is required for the pump.
• H eat-Timer recommends the installation of a bypass switch for
maintenance and manual operation of the pump.

Temperature Sensor Wiring

• O nly use a Standard Brass Tube sensor provided (HT #904250-00).
• T he sensor wires can be extended to 500 Ft by splicing it to
2-conductor shielded cable (#18/2 Shielded) (HT# 703001-01).
• C onnect the shield at the Platinum control circled terminal. The shield
MUST be cut at the sensor end.
• T he sensors must be inserted in ⅜"ID NPT well (HT# 904011-00 or
equivalent).

Supply Temperature Sensor

• T he Supply Temperature Sensor is required to be connected to the
Platinum Aux Temp 0 input terminals for the DHW Energy Saver to
control the boiler/water heater relay.
• T he Supply sensor must be installed in any of the boiler or water
heater aquastat fittings or no more than 10 Ft past the outlet of the
boiler/water heater, before any takeoffs.

Return Temperature Sensor

• T he return Temperature Sensor is included but optional. It should be
connected to the Platinum Aux Temp 1 input terminals for the DHW
Energy Saver to control the Pump relay.
• T he Return sensor should be installed less than 3 feet from the return
circulator on the return line.
