Flash Code #7 - Possible Joystick Fault

Symptoms:
The battery condition meter LEDs flash seven times. This
sequence is repeated until the fault is cleared.
Diagnosis:
There is a connection problem between the power module
(2) and the joystick module (1).
NOTE: If the joystick is moved just before or just after the
power switch is depressed, the battery condition meter will
ripple side-to-side and the power chair will not move. If the
joystick is not released within five seconds, the power chair
will not move until the controller is turned off and on again.
Solution:
Use the following procedure to find the source of the flash code:
1. Ensure there is no physical damage to the joystick
module (1).
2. Turn off the joystick module (1). Ensure the joystick is
not being depressed in any direction.
3. Turn on the joystick module (1).
— If the battery cindition meter on the joystick module (1)
still indicates this fault, then replace the joystick module
(1) and retest the system.

Flash Code #8 - Possible Controller Fault

Symptoms:
All battery condition meter LEDs flash eight times, then pause. This sequence is repeated until the fault is cleared.
Diagnosis:
There is a possible controller system fault.
Solution:
Use the following procedure to find the source of the flash code:
1. Remove the seat, main shroud, and front shroud. Refer to the power chair owner's manual.
2. Unplug connector 6a from connector 2b and connector 5a from connector 2d. See diagram 3.
3. Measure resistance across pin 3 on connector 6a and pin 4 on connector 5a. See figure 14.
— If the multimeter indicates an open, then go to the next step.
— If the multimeter indicates less than 1 ohm, then replace both motors (5 and 6) and retest the system.
4. Measure resistance across pin 4 on connector 6a and pin 3 on connector 5a. See figure 15.
— If the multimeter indicates an open, then replace the power module (2) and retest the system.
— If the multimeter indicates less than 1 ohm, then replace both motors (5 and 6) and retest the system.
