5. Measure resistance across pin 3 and pin 4 of connector
7a. See figure 24.
— If the multimeter indicates about 80 ohms, then go to the
next step.
— If the multimeter does not indicate about 80 ohms, then
replace the left motor (7) and retest the system.
6. Unplug connector 8a from connector 9d. See diagram 3
or 4.
7. Measure resistance across pin 3 and pin 4 of connector
8a. See figure 24.
— If the multimeter indicates about 80 ohms, then replace
the power module (9) and retest the system.
— If the multimeter does not indicate about 80 ohms, then
replace the right motor (8) and retest the system.

Missing or Defective Module

Symptoms:
The batteries are fully charged.
When the NE, NE+, or Q-Logic joystick (1) is powered
on, the LCD screen displays a missing or defective
device (Sip & Puff, Environmental Control Unit, Stand-
alone Joystick, Enhanced Display, and/or Attendant
Control) error.
Diagnosis:
One of the modules is either missing or defective.
NOTE: If a module is intentionally removed from
the system, this fault will appear.
Solution:
Use the following procedure to find the source of the fault:
1. Ensure that that all of the connections are correct.
— If the connections are correct, then contact Quantum Technical Service.
— If a module has intentionally been removed, then use the Save System Configuration function on the programmer.
See figure 25.

Joystick Error

Symptoms:
The batteries are fully charged.
All electrical components are connected correctly.
An error code is displayed when the NE, NE+, or Q-Logic joystick (1) is powered on.
The joystick is in the neutral (centered) position when the unit is powered on.
Diagnosis:
There is an input communications error.
