The LEDs on the back of the housing indicate various
statuses of the KTS 250:
LED off
KTS 250 not switched on.
LED flashes green 1 time per second
Normal operation. KTS 250 starting or already active
(also in power-saving mode).
LED flashes green every 5 seconds
KTS 250 is switched off and being charged.
LED flashes yellow 1 time per second
Internal communication failure.

KTS 250 switched on and supplied with power, but the
system does not start (recovery mode is activated or
malfunction).

Initial commissioning

Setting up the KTS 250
Before initial commissioning, make sure the volt‐
age supply matches the voltage rating of the
power supply unit provided.
The KTS 250 supports WLAN frequencies in the
2.4-GHz range of channels 1 (2412 MHz) to 11
(2462 MHz). WLAN computer networks outside
the frequency range are not displayed.
The WLAN configuration always depends on the
configuration of the router / access point availa‐
ble.
The "Extended Range" function is not supported.

1. Use the power supply unit provided to supply the
KTS 250 with power.
2. Switch on the KTS 250 by pressing the power key.
3. Select a language.
4. Read and follow the instructions on screen.
After the initial commissioning, an initial update
must be performed. An internet connection is re‐
quired for the update.

Setting up a printer
To use the KTS 250 to print, the KTS 250 must be
in the same computer network as the printer.
 Set up the printer according to the instructions of the
KTS 250 Help Center.

Licensing the software
An internet connection is required for the licens‐
ing process.
1. You can find the customer number and password in
the welcoming e-mail that follows conclusion of the
agreement.
2. Enter customer number and password.
3. Use <Continue> to confirm your input.
 The licensing process is now complete.
Should the customer number and/or password
be lost, "

ing >> Forgot login information?" can be used to
have the login information sent to the email ad‐
dress specified during the ordering process of
the KTS 250.

Operation

5.1
Switching on the KTS 250
To prevent the formation of condensation, do not
switch on the KTS 250 until the KTS 250 has ad‐
justed to the ambient temperature.
 Switch on the KTS 250 by pressing the power key.

Activating power-saving mode
 Press power key briefly.
 The KTS 250 will enter standby mode (power-saving
mode). If power-saving mode is already active, it
will be deactivated.

Switching off the KTS 250
1. Press the power key for approx. 2 seconds, and re‐
lease it when the selection menu is opened.
2. Select <Switch off>.
 The KTS 250 will be switched off.

Forced shutdown
 Hold the power key pressed for at least 10 seconds.
 The KTS 250 will be switched off.
A forced shutdown may result in the loss of input
data.
Use this mode only if a shutdown of the operat‐
ing system is not possible, e.g. if the touchscreen
is not responsive (frozen touchscreen) or the
screen remains black.
