4-9. Resetting the Calibrator

At any time during front panel operation (not remote operation), you can return the
5820A Calibrator to the power-up state by pressing o. Pressing the o key returns
the calibrator to the power-up state: 20 mV, 1 kHz standby, 1 MΩ scope impedances, and
returns all other mode settings to their defaults.

4-10. Using the Operate and Standby Modes

When OPR displays in the Output Display, the output value and function shown is active
at the selected terminals. When SBY displays in the Output Display, all calibrator outputs
are open-circuited. To enable the operate mode or put the calibrator into standby, press
l.

4-11. Connecting the Calibrator to the UUT

Using the cable supplied, connect the Calibrator to the channel connectors on your
oscilloscope (see Figure 4-1). If you have a 5-channel Calibrator, you can connect the
Calibrator using any of the 5 channels available.
