4-45. Measuring the DC Calibration Output of an
Oscilloscope
Input voltages exceeding 30 VDC may cause damage to the
instrument. Do not apply voltages except in voltage
measurement mode.
The DC Voltage Measurement function of the 5820A is used to test the DC calibration
output of an oscilloscope (such as in the HP Infinium series).
To access the DC Voltage Measurement function, press ã followed by the OTHER
blue softkey. When the display changes, press the MEAS V CAL blue softkey.
Connect the oscilloscope's dc output to CHAN 1 of the 5820A. The 5820A will display
the scope's voltage output. Remove the oscilloscope connection when the DC
measurement calibration is complete.

4-46. Measuring Input Impedance and Capacitance

To access the meas Z menu, press ã and then select meas z or press the softkey under
MODE until "meas Z" appears.
You can press the MODE softkey to cycle through the functions in the order shown, or
you can press m to return directly to the OTHER modes menu.
The following describes each option in the Impedance/Capacitance (meas Z) menu:

f
MEASURE Indicates the type of test. You can select res 50 Ω or res 1 MΩ
termination (for impedance) or cap (capacitance).
MODE Indicates the Calibrator is in "meas Z " mode. Use the softkey to change
modes and open menus for other oscilloscope calibration modes.
