Erasing all tracks on a disc

Load a CD–RW.

Press ERASE twice for a non-finalized CD–RW,
or once for a finalized disc.
The recorder prompts you to confirm with the message
?, and the recorder function indicator blinks
ALL TRACK ERASE
orange to indicate erase standby mode.
Press 7 (stop) to cancel all track erase here.
If you don't proceed to step 3 within eight seconds, all track erase
is cancelled.

Press 8 (pause) to start erasing.
The process takes about three minutes for a finalized
this time, the function indicator lights orange and the display shows
to indicate that the recorder is erasing the disc and the remaining time to
completion.
If the disc is not yet finalized, the display shows the message
while the recorder erases the disc. This takes just a few seconds.

Load a CD–RW.

Press and hold ERASE for about four seconds.
The recorder prompts you to confirm with the message
and the recorder function indicator blinks orange to indicate erase
standby mode.
Press 7 (stop) to cancel all disc erase here.

Press 8 (pause) to start erasing.
The process takes about five minutes plus the entire length of the disc.
During this time, the function indicator lights orange and the display
shows dE (disc erase), followed by the remaining time to completion.
