Note
To check for burnout, you can carefully open the igni-
tion door briefly.
Danger
Risk of burns! Deflagration may occur if the
boiler door of a hot boiler is opened too abruptly.
Open the boiler door up to the lock. Only unlock
the door release after 5 seconds.
If there are still sufficient embers in the boiler, con-
tinue as follows with burnout:
1. Initially open hopper door

Measures to be carried out in the event of the boiler overheating

Your boiler is protected from overheating by safety
equipment.
Components:
High limit safety cut-out
Thermally activated safety valve
Note
Never make adjustments at the high limit safety cut-out
or thermally activated safety valve, which would result
in an exclusion of liability.
Replace faulty components only with genuine spare
parts from Viessmann.
Boiler water temperature has reached 95 °C
Thermally activated safety valve
The thermally activated safety valve is installed by
your heating contractor. It is connected to your boiler's
integrated safety heat exchanger, which is located on
the back of the boiler.
Note
Observe the instructions in the manufacturer's docu-
mentation of the thermally activated safety valve.
The boiler must be equipped with a thermally activated
safety valve.

vated safety valve
Note
A contractor (flue gas inspector) must check the ther-
mally activated safety valve regularly for tightness.
A
up to the lock.
2. Wait for approx. 5 s.
This gives low temperature carbonisation gas time
to be drawn out of the hopper.
3. Open the hopper door completely.
4. Press the "START" button on the programming
unit.
The flue gas fan starts if it has already stopped.
5. Recharge with logs in accordance with the heat
demand.
Note
Notify your heating contractor if the boiler overheats
again after a short time or overheats regularly.
Triggering the function:
The thermally activated safety valve responds if the
boiler water temperature exceeds approx. 95 °C.
Cold water flows through the safety heat exchanger.
The boiler is cooled and the heated water is routed to
the drain.
Cancelling the function:
Note
The function is reset automatically once the boiler
water temperature has dropped.
