Never store freshly cut wood in a cellar, as air and
sunshine are required for drying. However, dried
wood can be stored in a well ventilated cellar.
Storage over one summer results in a moisture con-
tent of approx. 40 %. Wood must be stored for sev-
eral years to achieve approx. 20 % moisture content.

Ideal log dimensions

Split log length 45 to 50 cm.
Shorter logs must be layered without air gaps in the
boiler hopper.
25 cm logs can be inserted in line one after another.

Heating up manually

Before heating up: Check that all required conditions
have been met. (see chapter "Heat-up preparations"
from page 10.
Note
Differing log dimensions can only be layered with
gaps. Gaps reduce the boiler output and increase the
risk of ineffective gasification.
