    20 September 2006, Rev 0.01 COVERS COVERS 3.3.1 FRONT COVER Removal Open the top cover. Switch off the main power switch [A]. Loosen the screws [B] ( x 2) for the operator panel. Slide the operator panel [C] to the end of the mounting slots and tighten the screws. Lift up the front cover [D] and slide it out between the frame and the control panel.

Move the side jogger channels [A] to the widest position. Unhook the spring [B]. Note the position of the balls in the ball cage [C] in the pre-fold ASSEMBLIES- nd remove them.

Fold away the upper idler roller shaft [B]. Remove side jogger channels by loosen the spacers [C] ( 3.4.14 ).

Installation Reverse the removal procedure. Adjustment If the belt doesn’t run centred at the rollers, the in-feed paper path may be skewed.
  • Page 14 20 September 2006, Rev 0.01 ASSEMBLIES 3.4.3 INFEED ROLLER SHAFT If the roller bracket [A] is not correctly adjusted the sheets will jam against the side jogger channel. Adjustment. Losen screw [B] ( x1 ). Adjust bracket by turning roller bracket until the sheets enters the stapling area straight.
  • Page 15 ASSEMBLIES 20 September 2006, Rev 0.01 3.4.4 INFEED IDLER ARM ASSEMBLY Removal Open top cover. Switch off main power switch. Disconnect the two connectors [A] for the solenoid (SOL 1) ( x2 ). Move the side jogger channels [C] to the sides. Loosen the knobs [B].
  • Page 16 20 September 2006, Rev 0.01 ASSEMBLIES 3.4.5 IDLER ARM STAPLER AREA Adjustment Remove infeed idler arm ( 3.4.4 ). Check that the upper idler roller [A] is 4±0,5 mm above the paper path. If not, adjust distance by forming (lifting or pushing) the idler arm [B]. Enter service mode SOL4.
  • Page 17 ASSEMBLIES 20 September 2006, Rev 0.01 3.4.6 STAPLER CARTRIDGE AND STAPLER HEAD Removal of Stapler Cartridge Open the top cover. Raise the handle [A] on the staple cartridge locking lever. Remove the staple cartridge [B] from the stapler head by sliding it away from the stapler head.
  • Page 18 20 September 2006, Rev 0.01 ASSEMBLIES 3.4.6 STAPLER CARTRIDGE AND STAPLER HEAD, CONTINUES Removal of Stapler Head Select the A3 (11”x17”) position to ensure that the side joggers are away from the stapler head. Loosen the thumb screw [D]. Rotate the lock pin [E] towards the thumbscrews and remove the lock pin from the stapler head assembly.
  • Page 19 Note: When a stapler head is removed, be sure to manually eject some staples before replacing it in the BM 2000. To do this, rest the stapler head on a firm surface (for example, the top of a table) and actuate the staple driver post up/down through full travel.
  • Page 20 Ensure that the staple driver post [I] is in its uppermost position. Place the stapler head back into the BM 2000. The driver post arm [I] must be placed into the stapler lift bracket [J].

Measure the distance [A] with a calliper from one end to the other. Hand crank the stapler/clincher drive shaft back to the top position.

Installation Reverse the removal procedure Adjustment Position the roller bearing [A] on the clincher drive bar on top of the clincher cam lobe [B]. Make sure that the crank [C] and link arm is [D] is positioned as shown in fig- ure on both sides.

Installation Reverse the removal procedure Adjustment Position the roller bearing [A] on the clincher drive bar on top of the clincher cam lobe [B]. Check that the clincher fingers [C] are flush with the top surface of the clincher bracket [D] within 0,1 mm.

If any sign of wear or burrs the clincher assembly must be replaced. Lubricate all components with thin oil.

Remove screw for timing belt [B] ( x1 ). Loosen two screws [C] at the end of the side jogger shaft and lift out the jog- ger assembly ( x2 ).

Remove the side jogger channel extensions [H] on the side jogger channels. Insert an A3 or 11”x17” heavy stock paper in the stapler area against the stop gate [I].

If the side jogger channel isn’t parallel to the paper or template it has to be adjusted.

Remove the tension arm assembly [C]. Remove the four springs [D]. NOTE: Use a screw driver as a lever between spring bracket and bearing bracket to release the spring tension.

  • Page 72 20 September 2006, Rev 0.01 STACKER 3.6.12 BELT STACKER MOTOR ST-M1 Removal Loosen nuts [A] ( x3 ). Slide the motor bracket [B] and remove. Disconnect connector [C] ( x1 ). Remove screws [D] ( x3 ). Installation Reverse the removal procedure. NOTE: Stacker motor pulley is D-shaped.

  • Page 74 20 September 2006, Rev 0.01 SOLENOIDS SOLENOIDS 3.7.1 SOL1 EDGE STAPLING TRANSPORT SOLENOID Removal Remove infeed idler arm ( 3.4.4). Remove screws [A] ( x2 ). Installation/Adjustment Connect the orange wire to the orange marking on solenoid. Mount idler arm. Make sure there is about 1 mm clearance between solenoid body and plunger when the idler rollers (bearings) contacts the infeed belt.
