Definitions
Conventional coolant:
A coolant that relies on inorganic inhibitors such as sil-
icates, nitrites, and phosphates for corrosion and cavi-
tation protection.
Organic Acid Technology (OAT) coolant:
A coolant that relies on inhibitors such as organic acid
salts for corrosion and cavitation protection.
