    A u d i e n c e This manual is for the System Administrator who configures and updates the printer. For information on printing labels and printer care and maintenance, refer to the Operator’s Handbook included with your printer.

    Stops/cancels the current print job. Advances supply for the selected printer. Selects which printer feeds the supply. Printer 1 is located on the left side. Printer 2 is located on the right side. Note: For the 9415™SP, these buttons Enters the printer configuration menu.

    S E T T I N G S This chapter tells you how to ♦ configure the printer. ♦ assign formats (dual printer only). ♦ select formats (single printer only). ♦ set the time and date. ♦ adjust the touch screen display.

    C o n f i g u r i n g t h e P r i n t e r Use the Configure screen to set the date and time, assign formats, adjust the touch screen settings, and update the printer. Instructions for configuring the printer are located under Manager Help. To access the Manager Help: Press Enter the Manager Password and press Enter.

    When you assign a format to a menu category, any labels you print in that category use the selected format. When you assign a format to Printer 1 or Printer 2, that format always prints on the assigned printer. The default assignments are Format 1, Printer 1 for all categories.

    Assigning a format to a category To assign a format to a menu category: Press Enter the Manager Password and press Enter. The default password is 1234. The Configure screen appears. Press Assign Format. Press Assign Format To Category. The currently selected format number appears across the top of the screen.
  • Page 11 Repeat for each format or category you need. The assignments appear in the Assigned list. When you are finished, press OK. Assign the format to a printer. See “Assigning a format to a printer” for more information. When you are finished, press Return to return to the menu screen.

    Assigning a format to a printer Assign the formats you need to a category before assigning them to a printer. See “Assigning a format to a category” for more information. Press Enter the Manager Password and press Enter. The default password is 1234. The Configure screen appears.

    Select a format from the Format# list, then press P1 (Printer 1) or P2 (Printer 2) from the Printer# list. Repeat for each format you need. The assignments appear in the Assigned Fmt/Prn list. When you are finished, press OK, then press Return to return to the menu screen.

    C h a n g i n g t h e P a s s w o r d A password is required to make any changes to the printer settings or product screens. To change the Manager Password: Press Enter the Manager Password and press Enter.

    The adjustments are in 0.01-inch increments and the default is 0.25. Press Enter the Manager Password and press Enter. The default password is 1234. The Configure screen appears. Press Printer. Use the buttons as follows: Button Tear bar+ Tear bar– Defaults When you are finished, press OK.

    Creating and editing product buttons Click File, then New to create a new data (.dat) file from a blank template, or click File, then Open… to edit an existing data file. You see a blank template or your data file. Click a blank button to add a new product, or click an existing product button to edit.
  • Page 27 Click File, then Save to save changes. The data file must be saved as a Unicode text file (.dat) to be loaded into a printer. Once you have made changes to the product data file, save it on a USB thumb drive to update multiple printers.

    Save the latest application and data file on a thumb drive. Application updates are available for download on our Web site. Plug the thumb drive into the USB port on the side of the printer. The printer detects the thumb drive automatically. USB Port Press Enter the Manager Password and press Enter.

    K i l l i n g D a t a F i l e s The Kill Data Files option in the Configure menu deletes all data files from the printer. Data files include the product button information, password, and printer configuration settings.
  • Page 31 Press Kill Data Files. Press Yes. The printer deletes all data files and loads the default data files. The printer does not restart. Note: All data files are deleted when you press Kill Data Files and they cannot be recovered.
