When I try to go from pilot position to the on position the pilot light goes out I even tried to hold nob down for 5 minutes still goes out going from pilot to on I was having issues before this started the fire would not come on again until cooled down after turning it off and if I tapped the bottom of fire place it would come on

The pilot light on the Regency Fireplace Products FireGenie FG37-NG could go out when switching from "pilot" to "on" due to improper vent restrictor settings or issues with the airflow. If the vent is too restricted, it can cause poor combustion or backdraft, leading to the pilot flame being extinguished. Adjusting the vent restrictor plate to ensure proper airflow may resolve the issue.

If the flames do not come back on in the Regency Fireplace Products FireGenie FG37-NG after turning off the switch while the heater is hot, it could be due to the safety system or thermal sensor preventing immediate reignition. The unit may require a cool-down period before it can restart.
