Install and Commission the Radar Detector
1. Install the radar detector on the beam and connect cables.
Connect the radar detector to the RS-485 port of the camera using the RS-485 cable. If a
prime lens camera is to be connected, the 12 V DC port of the camera can be directly
used for power supply. If a zoom camera is to be connected, independent power supply is
required and the required power supply port is 12 V DC. The following figure shows the
cable connection.
Cable
Power cable: dual-wire
RS-485 cable: three-wire
Note:
Waterproof and insulate the pigtail cables to prevent water from entering the device. For
details, see the Quick Start Guide delivered with the camera.

2. Adjust the bubble level. When the bubble is in the center, the radar is horizontal. At this
time, record the initial tilt angle θ1.
3. Determine the radar tilt angle α by referring to the following table and taking into
account the radar installation height and capture direction (vehicle driving direction).
For example, if the installation height is 6 m and the capture distance is 24 m, the tilt
angle for capturing approaching vehicles is 14 ° .
4. Calculate the value of θ2 by using the following formula: θ2 = θ1 + α. Then adjust the
radar detector's tilt angle to θ2 by referring to the tilt angle dial.
