—Locking and unlocking with
power door lock switch
Press the switch.
To lock: Press the switch down on the right
side.
To unlock: Press the switch down on the left
side.
All the doors lock or unlock simultaneously.
When the driver's door is locked from the out-
side or locked with the wireless remote con-
trol or locked with smart entry and start sys-
tem, the power door lock switch will not work
until the driver's door is unlocked with either:
the key,

the inside lock knob,
D
the wireless remote control, or
D
the smart entry and start system.

—Rear door child-protectors

Move the lock lever to the LOCK position
as shown on the label.
When the child-protector is locked, you can-
not open the rear door by the inside door han-
dle.
NOTICE
To avoid an accident, Toyota recom-
mends that the rear door child-protector
feature is used whenever small children
are in the vehicle.
CAUTION
Before driving, be sure that the doors
D
are closed and locked, especially
when small children are in the vehicle.
Along with the proper use of seat-
D
belts, locking the doors helps prevent
the driver and passengers from being
thrown out from the vehicle in an acci-
dent.
It also helps prevent the doors from
D
being opened unintentionally.
