To jump start a 2006 Toyota Camry, follow these steps:

1. Check Connections: Ensure the jumper cable clamps are tight and do not touch any moving parts or other metal surfaces.

2. Connect Jumper Cables:
- Attach one end of the positive (+) jumper cable to the positive terminal of the dead battery.
- Connect the other end of the positive cable to the positive terminal of the working battery.
- Attach one end of the negative (-) jumper cable to the negative terminal of the working battery.
- Connect the other end of the negative cable to a solid, unpainted metal surface on the engine block of the dead vehicle (not the battery).

3. Charge the Battery: Allow the dead battery to charge for a few minutes with the jumper cables connected.

4. Start the Engine: Attempt to start the Camry's engine in the normal way.

5. Run the Engine: If the engine starts, keep it running at about 2000 RPM for several minutes with the accelerator pedal lightly pressed.

6. Disconnect Cables: Carefully remove the jumper cables in reverse order:
- Remove the negative cable from the previously dead vehicle.
- Remove the negative cable from the donor vehicle.
- Remove the positive cable from the donor vehicle.
- Remove the positive cable from the previously dead vehicle.

If the engine does not start after multiple attempts, the battery may need further charging or replacement. Have it checked by a Toyota dealer.
