Problem
You turn on your notebook and nothing seems
to happen.

Possible Cause
1. The Main Battery is completely discharged
and there is no Power Adapter (AC or Auto)
installed.
2. The Main Battery is completely discharged
and the Power Adapter (AC or Auto) is not
plugged in properly.
Possible Solution
1. When the battery is dead there will be a
beep when the Power Switch is turned on and
the notebook will immediately go into Dead
Battery Suspend Mode. (See pages 26–27.)
Check the Status Indicator Panel to determine
the presence and condition of the battery.
(See pages 17–18.) Install the Battery if it is
missing or a Power Adapter if the battery is
dead or unavailable.
2. When the battery is dead there will be a
beep when the Power Switch is turned on and
your notebook will immediately go into Dead
Battery Suspend Mode. (See pages 26–27.)
Check the Status Indicator Panel to determine
the presence and condition of the battery and
adapter. (See Figures 2-3 and 2-4 on pages 17
and 18.) Verify that the Adapter is connected
correctly. (See page 9.)
