Since several contacts are shown below the horizontal bar marked , the user must press the key which is located just below the required function.

Description of the phone Alphanumeric keypad The alphanumeric keypad allows the user to: • dial a phone number. • enter the characters of a contact’s surname and/or first name in order to find his phone number. The dialling keys are associated with the following characters. Press the corresponding dial key until the desired character is displayed.
Making a call Your phone proposes various call modes to suit your activities. These options are available in addition to the classic handset mode (discrete mode): Pick- ing up the handset to answer or make a call, and hanging up the handset again to finish a call.
Making a call Note: • The microphone in hands-free mode must not be covered. • The sound quality will be better if you adjust the volume of your phone to a low level. Switching to hands-free mode during an ongoing call via the handset 1 - Press the loudspeaker key.
Making a call Switching from micro-headset mode to hands-free mode: You are discussing in micro-headset mode. • Press the loudspeaker key. -> The conversation continues in handsfree mode. You can return to headset mode by pressing again. Micro-headset mode and conversation monitoring: When a third party lifts the handset while you are communicating in headset mode, the terminal will react differently according to the program chosen.
Making a call Using the intercom mode The intercom mode is used to communicate with internal parties, without any action on your part. To activate the interphone mode, the user only needs to press the loudspeaker key while the phone is in standby mode. The symbol appears now in the first line in order to indi- cate that the mode is active.
Making a call Several options exist to call a party, depending on whether the party’s number is new or has already been stored by the phone. The procedures to call parties stored in the directories or logs are explained in the chapters that are dedicated to these functions.
Making a call Using the redial function (redialling of the last number called) The redial function (redialling of the last number called) allows you to redial automatically the last number called. • Press twice the redial key. -> The phone automatically calls the last number stored in the outgoing call log.

Voicemail The voicemail system helps you to manage your calls when you are absent or simply when you do not want to be disturbed. For the messaging system to be able to record your mes- sages, you must configure and personalise your voice mailbox, then forward your calls. Configuring and customising your voice mailbox You must call the voicemail system to access the menus to configure and personalize your voice mailbox.
Voicemail Defining call forwarding to the mailbox You can also specify other forwarding options than those defined by default for the key: For example, forward on no answer or forward of calls from a specific origin.
