FIRST USE

5.1 First use
Read the instruction manual carefully before operating the machine.
Before starting the machine, check if:
• the steam/ hot water valves is closed.
• the switch and buttons are not activated.
• the power cord is disconnected.
• the drip tray is inserted accurately
Now you can begin to operate your machine:
1 Remove the cup heater tray.
2 Fill the water tank with fresh water, deficient in lime. Replace the cup heater tray.
3 Insert the plug in the wall socket by pressing the power-switch. The machine is now on.
Important!
Also for the first use, the boiler has to be filled.
Place a small container (e. g. a milk jug) under the steam/ hot water valve. Open the steam valve by moving it

upwards or downwards and press the pump/ hot water. A pump sound should be audible. Now the boiler fills with
water. At first use, it can take a few seconds before the water comes out of the steam valve. Please allow that
approx. 300 ml of water come out of the valve. In this way, the boiler is flushed and filled with fresh water. This
allows you to constantly renew the boiler water in daily use. Switch off the pump/ hot water switch and close the
steam/ hot water valve by letting it go.
5 Dispense water by pressing the coffee switch.
6 The machine heats up and the orange control lamp for heating control lights up.
7 As soon as the optimum temperature is reached, the heating shuts off automatically and the control lamp for
heating control goes out. The indicator of the pump pressure gauge may move slightly during the heat-up phase.
8 Clamp the empty filter holder to the brewing group to preheat filter and filter holder. You can accelerate this
process by dispensing water from the brewing group.
9 For the first filling-up of the boiler, a large amount of water is required. Therefore, refill the water tank with
water after the first use.
10 The machine is now ready for use. Put the cups on the cup heater tray in order to preheat them. Then enjoy your
coffee!

USE OF THE MACHINE

6.1 Preparation of the machine

The switched off machine will be put into operation as follows:
1 Make sure that there is sufficient water in the water tank.
2 Make sure that the switches are not pressed and the steam/ hot water valve is closed.
3 Turn on the machine (push the power switch).
4 The heating period depends on the ambient temperature and is approx. 5-7 minutes. The indicator of the pump
pressure gauge may move slightly during the heat-up phase.
5 The machine is ready for use.
6 Acitvate the coffee switch with the filter holder inserted and dispense some hot water. Thus, the filter holder will
be completely heated.
It is recommended to leave the filter holder in the brewing group to keep it warm for optimum
temperature for coffee dispension.
