The Blind hem stitch is used for putting a near-invisible
hem in garments or home decoration projects. Use
it to hem pants, skirts, or draperies.
a Replace the presser foot with a blind stitch presser
foot (multipurpose presser foot). (Refer to page
50.)
b Set up the machine for 3 thread overlock stitch
with one needle in the left position (on Two-needle
models).
•
The right needle should be removed.
c Turn the wrong side of the fabric out, fold the
fabric once and then back to the required width,
as illustrated.
•
Sewing will be easier if a crease is ironed into the
folded fabric before sewing.
d Turn the handwheel counter clockwise and set
the needle at its highest position.
e Lift the presser foot lever and insert the fabric with
the folded edge on the left in such a way that the
needle pierces just the folded edge as it sews.
f Lower the presser foot lever, adjust the fabric
guide toward the folded edge.
g Adjust the guide position of the presser foot with
the adjusting screw so that the needle is lightly
touching the crease in the fabric. In this case, the
thickness of the fabric is the criterion.
By turning the screw forward (toward you) the
fabric guide will go to the right. By turning the
screw backward (away from you) the fabric guide
will go to the left.

To adjust the position of the fabric guide, a piece
of the same fabric should be used to do a sewing
test.
h While folding the fabric by hand, sew so that the
needle just catches the edge of the crease.
i Open the fabric as shown in the illustration.

For best results, use a fine thread in a color that
matches the fabric.
When done correctly, this stitch will be very hard
to see on the right side of the fabric.

단 공그르기는 옷이나 가정 장식품의 단을 땀이
거의 보이지 않게 재봉하는 데 사용됩니다. 바지나
스커트, 휘장의 단접기에 사용하세요.
a 노루발을 공그르기 노루발(다목적 노루발)로
교체하세요. (50 페이지 참조.)
b (2바늘 모델에서) 왼쪽 바늘을 사용해 3실
오버로크 스티치용으로 재봉기를 설정하세요.
•
오른쪽 바늘은 제거해야 합니다.
c 그림처럼 천의 안쪽을 바깥으로 하여 천을 한
번 접고 원하는 폭으로 한 번 더 접습니다.
•
재봉하기 전에 접은 천을 다리미질하여 줄을
잡으면 재봉하기가 더 쉽습니다.
d 풀리 다이얼을 시계 반대 방향으로 돌려
바늘을 가장 높은 위치로 올리세요.
e 노루발 레버를 올리고 재봉할 때 바늘이 접힌
단을 바로 관통하도록 접힌 단을 왼쪽으로
하여 천을 삽입하세요.
f 노루발 레버를 내리고 접힌 단 쪽으로 천
가이드를 조절하세요.
g 바늘이 천의 줄을 약간 건드리도록 조절
나사로 노루발의 가이드 위치를 조절하세요.
이 경우 천의 두께가 기준입니다.
나사를 앞(사용자 쪽)으로 돌리면 천 가이드가
오른쪽으로 이동합니다. 나사를 뒤(사용자에서
먼 쪽)로 돌리면 천 가이드가 왼쪽으로
이동합니다.

천 가이드 위치를 조절하기 위해서 같은
천조각으로 재봉 시험을 하는 것이 좋습니다.
h 손으로 천을 접은 채로 바늘이 줄의
가장자리에 바로 걸리도록 재봉하세요.
i 그림처럼 천을 펼치세요.
•
최상의 결과를 얻으려면 천과 같은 색상의
가는 실을 사용하세요.
재봉이 올바르게 됐다면 천의 겉면에서 이
스티치가 거의 보이지 않습니다.
