Chapter 5 I/O configuration information

5.1 I/O Automatic Recognition Function

FL654A has automatic recognition function of connected I/O modules. FL654A automatically
recognizes connected I/O modules and automatically assigns I/O modules to the talker/listener
areas on the FL-net cyclic transmission common memory.
The FL654A automatically recognizes the connected I/O modules at power-ON when the following
switch setting has been made.
・ Operation setting switch (8-bit DIP switch): "Checks the I/O module installation status (CONF)."

Then check if the information automatically recognized by the FL654A is correct according by the
terminal software of the PC. Completing this check allows the I/O configuration information to be
saved in the FL654A's nonvolatile memory.
Finally, turn OFF the power and change the operation setting switch as specified below. Then the
FL654A performs I/O module input/output on the basis of the checked and saved I/O configuration
information.
・ Operation setting switch (8-bit DIP switch): "I/O module input/output is performed based on the
saved I/O configuration information (LOCK)."
The following sections describe the allocated information checking procedure using terminal
software from a PC.
