3-12 CHOPPER AND CONDITIONER REEL INSTALLATION
NOTE: CONDITIONER REEL NOT SHOWN, BUT
ATTACHES TO VERTICAL HARROW IN THE
SAME MANNER AS CHOPPER REEL SHOWN.
3-12.1
Attach 17" heavy spring assembly to
reel arm using pivot pin, machinery bushing,
connex bushing, and 5/16 x 2-1/2 spring slot-
ted pins (See Figure 3-15).
IMPORTANT
THE CONNEX BUSHING IS LOCATED INSIDE
HEAVY SPRING ASSEMBLY AND MACHINERY
BUSHINGS ARE ASSEMBLED TO OUTSIDE OF
REEL ARM.

Assemble 1 x 8 adjustment bolt through
adjustment pin, 1-8 hex lock nut w/ nylon,
1-8 hex nut into end of 17" heavy spring as-
sembly.

Attach heavy spring assembly to lower
hole on rear center or wing frame or double
chopper mount with 3/8 x 4 spring slotted
pins through adjustment pin.

Attach reel arm/spring assembly to up-
per hole on rear center or wing frame or
double chopper mount using 1-8 x 6-1/2 hex
head cap screw, 1-1/2 flange bearing, 1-1/2
pivot bushing, and hex lock nut.
WARNING
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LIFT HEAVY
PARTS (SUCH AS THE FRAME, DISC
GANGS, LIFT, PULL HITCH, OR
REEL/GANG BAR ASSEMBLY MANU-
ALLY. USE A HOIST OR A FORKLIFT
TO MOVE THESE PARTS INTO POSI-
TION.

Attach reel/gang bar assembly to reel
arms using gang bar mount plate, 5/8-11 x 5
hex head cap screws and hex lock nuts. Re-
fer to pages 2-4 - 2-7 for reel/ gang bar
placement locations.
